Do you build in my area?

If you live in Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, or Virginia, you're in luck: We already have a stellar crew lined up to build your solar carport. And if you're not within our service area (see map above), please reach out anyway! We want to make Sunports available to all, and hearing from an interested customer can prompt us to move into a new region.

What is a Sunport, exactly?

A Sunport is a timber frame carport with a solar canopy for a roof. It provides covered parking, storage, or outdoor workspace while generating clean electricity from its integrated solar roof. Instead of putting panels on your house, the Sunport becomes its own architectural element — part shelter, part power plant.

Can I customize my Sunport?

Absolutely. Our solar carports are modular and built using big-timber, post-and-beam construction, which allows for flexible design options. Check out our Configurator to find your perfect configuration!

How much electricity can a Sunport generate?

Accepted Answer

Our residential solar carports feature a solar canopy with between 6.4–19.2 kW of capacity. If those numbers mean nothing to you, at the low end of the range, this is typically enough to offset the annually-averaged electricity use of a small home. At the high end, this is enough to offset the electricity use of a large household that charges an electric vehicle at home. Because it’s a timber carport structure with ideal panel orientation, the system often produces more energy than rooftop panels installed at less-than-ideal angles. Can I add battery storage?
