How much does a solar carport cost?
In New England, a turnkey Sunport starts at $23,350 for the frame alone and $33,550 installed with a 16-panel (6.4 kW) solar roof. Price yours out live in the configurator above!
How much power does a solar panel carport produce?
Sunport roofs hold 16 to 48 panels — 6.4 to 19.2 kW. That's enough to offset a typical American home plus EV charging. That works out to roughly $2,000–$9,000 of electricity a year, depending on utility rate.
Can I get a bigger solar carport than the sizes in the configurator?
Yes. The configurator tops out at three bays, but the Sunport system is modular — we can add as many bays as you need. Book a consult with a note about your larger project and we'll plan it with you.
Is there a DIY solar carport kit?
Yes. Every Sunport is available as a pre-cut kit — structural timbers, all hardware, and an engineering plan delivered to your site for your own contractor to assemble. Prefer not to lift a beam? Our crew handles the full solar carport installation: footings, frame, panels, and hookup.
Can a timber solar carport structure handle snow?
Yes, both the timber frame and solar racking are engineered for serious Northeast snow loads.
Is the solar roof waterproof?
We use UV-resistant microsealant tape on the seams between panels, which gives robust protection from water intrusion. Any portion of the Sunport without solar panels is finished with galvanized metal roofing. If we're installing your Sunport, our crew applies the tape; for kits, we ship it to you at cost.
What's the difference between a solar carport and a solar canopy?
They're the same idea: a solar canopy over parking. Ours is a residential solar carport built as a real timber frame, with posts and beams milled from local timber instead of steel tubes.
What warranty comes with a solar carport?
The solar panels carry their manufacturer's 25-year warranty, and we stand behind the structure and workmanship on everything we build. Full terms come with your contract, and we'll walk you through them before you sign anything.
Where do you install solar carports?
Currently we install across Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, and Virginia. Pre-cut kits can travel further; ask on your consult.
